Tulmar to implement 16G Hardware Upgrade on AmSafe Aviation Restraints

In an effort to increase the level of performance and safety of restraint systems in use today, AmSafe Aviation has received approval from the FAA to substitute 16g hardware in place of 9g hardware for a select group of components.   Since Jan 1st, 2008 all AmSafe aviation restraints with teardrop buckles serviced through our R&O department have been upgraded with a 16g replacement buckle.   As of Sept 1, 9g adjusters will be included in this upgrade program.

The Child Aviation Restraint (CARES), manufactured by AmSafe has recently been approved by Transport Canada.  Although CARES is marketed directly to consumers, Tulmar is now offering a stocking and refurbishing program for Canadian air carriers wishing to offer this value-added item on-board and for cabin safety training programs.

New service manuals have been issued for the TUL XL series of aviation life rafts to replace previous revisions indicated below:

Life Raft Model 4XL - TUL5348 revision 5 is obsolete
Life Raft Model 6XL - TUL5349 revision 3 is obsolete
Life Raft Model 10XL - TUL5350 revision 2 is obsolete
Life Raft Model 20XL - TUL5365 revision * is obsolete

The latest manual revisions are dated February 1^st, 2008.
