Tulmar Safety Systems President & CEO Appointed to Ontario Health Board of Directors

Tulmar Safety Systems officially inaugurated its new Sewing Academy with its first graduating cohort, alongside a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house, marking an important step in strengthening Canada’s defence manufacturing workforce.

For Owen Burgess, a Smith Engineering student at Queen’s University, that opportunity began with a four-month summer job at Tulmar. After that first experience, Owen returned for a year-long internship, giving him the time and trust to take on greater responsibility and contribute more deeply to a real product development project.

As Viktor Ekstrom prepares to complete his one year contract with Tulmar, I recently had the opportunity to sit down with him and reflect on his experience. Viktor’s story began shortly after he completed high school in Sweden. At just 18 years old, he decided to leave his family and friends, move across the Atlantic, and spend a year working with us in Eastern Ontario.
